Ingredients

  • 24 oz. frozen hash browns
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons instant beef bouillon
  • 1 lb. sausage
  • 1/3 cup onion
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Mix together thawed hash browns, melted butter, and instant beef bouillon.
  3. Press the mixture into a 9-inch pie pan to form a crust.
  4. Bake at 400°F for 25 minutes.
  5. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F.
  6. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the sausage and chopped onion; drain excess fat.
  7. In a bowl, combine beaten eggs and cottage cheese; add the cooked sausage and onion mixture.
  8. Pour the egg and meat mixture onto the pre-baked hash brown crust.
  9. Sprinkle the top with shredded Cheddar cheese.
  10. Bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes.
  11. Allow the pie to stand for 10 to 15 minutes before cutting and serving.
