Savory sausage hot rolls feature seasoned summer sausage wrapped in flaky dough, topped with cheeses and herbs—perfect for snacks, parties, or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 box hot roll mix
  • 1 roll summer sausage
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/3 cup catsup
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • oregano
  • egg white

Instructions

  1. Remove skin from the summer sausage and crumble it.
  2. Lightly brown the crumbled sausage in 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  3. Drain the sausage and set aside.
  4. Prepare the hot roll dough according to the package instructions.
  5. Roll out the dough and cut into squares.
  6. Place a portion of the cooked sausage on each dough square.
  7. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, and sprinkle oregano.
  8. Brush the edges of the dough with egg white to seal.
  9. Wrap the dough around the sausage to form a roll.
  10. Place the rolls seam-side down on a baking sheet.
  11. Brush the tops with egg white for a shiny finish.
  12. Bake at the temperature specified on the hot roll mix package until golden brown.
  13. Remove from oven and serve warm.
