Ingredients

  • 1 can creamed corn
  • 1 can whole kernel corn
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 lb smoked sausage
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 3 cups diced potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon crushed basil
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Cut smoked sausage into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Put smoked sausage and chopped onion in a soup pot and simmer until onions are tender.
  3. Add chicken broth, diced potatoes, sugar, crushed basil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Cook until potatoes are fork-tender.
  5. Add evaporated milk and both cans of creamed corn and whole kernel corn.
  6. Stir well and heat through.
