Sausage Stuffed Macaroni Shells
Ingredients
- 3/4 lb. smoked sausage ⓘ
- 18 large macaroni shells ⓘ
- 1 lb. Ricotta cheese ⓘ
- 1 egg, beaten ⓘ
- 1 1/2 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese ⓘ
- 1/2 c. chopped fresh parsley ⓘ
- 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves ⓘ
- 1 (15 oz.) jar spaghetti sauce (with mushrooms and onions) ⓘ
- 1/3 c. water ⓘ
Instructions
- Prepare shells according to package.
- Preheat oven to 375°. Combine Ricotta and egg. Add Mozzarella, parsley, Parmesan, basil and oregano. Stir in finely chopped sausage.
- Combine spaghetti sauce and water in bowl.
- Put 3/4 cup sauce in bottom of a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
- Fill shells with sausage-cheese mixture and place in pan.
- Pour remaining sauce over top.
- Bake 35 minutes or until shells are heated through and cheese is melted.
