Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup finely grated natural Cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups soft white breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
  • dry breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Combine the grated Cheddar cheese and breadcrumbs in a bowl.
  2. Beat the eggs until frothy and mix in the salt, pepper, and prepared mustard.
  3. Mix the egg mixture with the cheese and breadcrumb mixture until well combined.
  4. Form the mixture into small balls.
  5. If the mixture is too moist, add a little more soft breadcrumbs, but do not make it too dry and crumbly.
  6. Heat oil for deep frying in a wok until hot.
  7. Fry a few cheese balls at a time on medium heat until golden brown all over.
  8. Lift out the cheese balls and drain on absorbent paper.
  9. Serve warm or cold.
