Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 3/4 cup self-rising flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • dash of pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped green peppers
  • 1 (15 oz) cream-style corn
  • 1 (8 oz) package bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 2-quart casserole dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine milk and egg yolks and blend well.
  3. Lightly spoon flour into a measuring cup and level off.
  4. Add flour, cornmeal, baking powder, and pepper to the milk and egg mixture.
  5. Beat until smooth.
  6. Stir in chopped green peppers, cream-style corn, and crumbled bacon.
  7. Pour the mixture into the prepared casserole dish.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 40 minutes or until golden and set.
