Ingredients

  • 2 lb. lean boneless beef, cut in strips
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup tomatoes
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 large green peppers, seeded and cut in strips
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup bacon fat
  • 1 large garlic clove, minced
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, salt, and black pepper; toss the beef strips in the mixture.
  2. Shake off any excess flour from the beef.
  3. Heat bacon fat in a skillet; cook beef until browned, about 4 minutes.
  4. Add chopped onion, green peppers, tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt, and water.
  5. Simmer all ingredients, covered, for 45 to 60 minutes, or until the meat is tender.
  6. Serve hot with steamed rice.
