Ingredients

  • 1 cup sharp grated cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 slices white bread
  • butter

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut off the crust of the bread.
  3. Butter the bread on both sides and cut each into 4 quarters.
  4. Place a layer of bread on the bottom of an oiled casserole.
  5. Layer cheese and bread alternately in the casserole.
  6. Mix the milk, beaten eggs, and salt well.
  7. Pour the liquid mixture into the casserole over the bread.
  8. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes until brown.
