Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup maraschino cherries
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup roasted almonds

Instructions

  1. Blend butter, powdered sugar, and egg yolks until smooth.
  2. Mix in flour to form a dough.
  3. Press and flatten the mixture in an ungreased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
  4. Bake in a 350°F oven for 15 minutes.
  5. Mix sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, lemon juice, and chopped maraschino cherries.
  6. Set aside the cherry mixture.
