Ingredients

  • 2 c. warm water
  • 2 Tbsp. yeast
  • 2 Tbsp. honey
  • 3 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 c. cornmeal
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/3 c. molasses
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/4 c. poppy seed
  • 1/4 c. sesame seed
  • 1 1/4 c. sunflower seeds

Instructions

  1. Proof the yeast, warm water, and honey until foamy.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients: whole wheat flour, cornmeal, salt, water, molasses, olive oil, poppy seed, sesame seed, and sunflower seeds. Knead for about 10 minutes.
  3. Let rise in a greased and covered bowl for 35 to 45 minutes.
  4. Shape the dough as desired.
  5. Brush lightly with egg whites and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
  6. Bake at 375°F until golden brown.
