Ingredients

  • 2 c. oatmeal
  • 3 c. white flour
  • 3 c. graham flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. oleo
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 3 c. buttermilk
  • small amount of sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix together oatmeal, white flour, graham flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar if you choose.
  2. Work in oleo like pie crust until crumbly, then add buttermilk with baking soda and mix until combined.
  3. Roll out the dough very thin on a floured surface.
  4. Cut into 9-inch round portions and place on a cookie sheet.
  5. Bake in a 350°F oven for 8 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
