Ingredients

  • 2 cups grated carrots
  • 1 head cabbage, chopped
  • 1/2 green pepper
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp celery seed
  • 3/4 cup white vinegar
  • 3/4 cup light Wesson oil
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar

Instructions

  1. Bring the white vinegar, light Wesson oil, and sugar to a boil.
  2. Pour the hot mixture over the chopped cabbage, grated carrots, green pepper, and small onion.
  3. Mix well to coat all ingredients thoroughly.
  4. Cover and let it sit in the refrigerator for at least six weeks to develop flavors.
