Ingredients

  • 2 lb. round steak
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 5 tablespoons oil
  • 2 tablespoons flour

Instructions

  1. Cut the round steak into serving-sized pieces.
  2. Sprinkle the meat with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Dip each piece of meat into 1/4 cup of milk, then coat with a mixture of flour, salt, and pepper.
  4. Brown the coated meat on both sides in 5 tablespoons of oil.
  5. Remove the browned meat to a shallow baking dish.
  6. In the skillet, blend 2 tablespoons of flour into the remaining oil.
  7. Stir in milk and soup to create a gravy.
  8. Pour this mixture over the meat in the baking dish.
  9. Bake uncovered at 350°F (175°C) for 1 1/2 hours.
