Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground cloves
  • 2 tsp water
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • vegetable cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a bowl, combine granulated sugar, dark brown sugar, sliced almonds, vegetable oil, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and water.
  3. Add egg whites and egg to the mixture and mix well.
  4. Stir in all-purpose flour and baking powder until a dough forms.
  5. Divide the dough in half and shape each into a log on a baking sheet coated with vegetable cooking spray.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes until golden.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
  8. Slice the logs into biscotti shapes and arrange on the baking sheet.
  9. Bake again for 10-12 minutes until crisp and golden.
  10. Allow to cool completely before serving.
