Ingredients

  • 1 c. shortening
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. milk or buttermilk
  • nuts, raisins or chocolate chips (if desired)

Instructions

  1. Cream or mix well the shortening, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  2. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Drop on lightly greased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake at 375° for 12 minutes.
