Ingredients

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 2 cups Bisquick
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons shortening

Instructions

  1. Melt shortening in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  2. Combine dry ingredients (cornmeal, Bisquick, sugar, salt, baking powder) in one bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat eggs and add milk.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir just until moist.
  5. Pour the batter into the melted shortening in the pan.
  6. Bake at 400°F for 35 to 45 minutes until done.
