Southern Pulled Beef Brisket

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs beef brisket
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon coriander
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 (14 ounce) can beef broth

Instructions

  1. Combine all dry ingredients. Rub over brisket.
  2. Heat oil over medium heat. Brown meat on both sides, about 10 minutes total.
  3. Transfer meat to a slow cooker. Add beef broth. Cover and cook on Low until beef pulls apart easily with fork, about 8 hours.
  4. Remove meat from slow cooker on to serving dish. Pull apart meat with fork. Serve plain or with barbeque sauce of your choice. Great on hamburger buns for a sandwich too.
