Ingredients

  • 4 qt. tomatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 1 c. onion, chopped
  • 1 c. green pepper, chopped
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. Wesson oil
  • 6 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. oregano
  • 2 (12 oz.) cans tomato paste

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients except the tomato paste in a large pot and cook for 1 hour, stirring often.
  2. Add the tomato paste to the mixture and cook for an additional hour, maintaining a slow simmer.
  3. Pour the hot sauce into sterilized jars and seal properly for canning or freezing.
