Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. bacon
  • 3 onions
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 large can tomatoes
  • 2 green peppers
  • 1 can kidney beans and liquid
  • 1 can mushrooms
  • 1/2 lb. spaghetti
  • 1/2 lb. cheese

Instructions

  1. Fry the bacon until crisp and crush it.
  2. Brown the chopped onions in the bacon grease.
  3. Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
  4. Combine the cooked beef and onions with the tomatoes, crumbled bacon, chopped green peppers, kidney beans with liquid, and sliced mushrooms. Season to taste.
  5. Simmer the sauce while the spaghetti cooks, about 10 minutes.
  6. Cook the spaghetti according to package directions.
  7. Grease a baking dish.
  8. Layer cooked spaghetti in the dish, then top with the sauce.
  9. Slice cheese over the top.
  10. Bake in a slow oven at 250°F (about 2 hours).
