Sweet, buttery popcorn coated with caramel-like syrup, perfect for sharing at holidays or parties, appealing to those with a sweet tooth and craving a crunchy snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 bags hulless popcorn

Instructions

  1. Boil brown sugar, margarine, and corn syrup together for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda.
  2. Pour the hot mixture over 2 bags of hulless popcorn in a large aluminum roaster.
  3. Mix well to coat all popcorn evenly.
  4. Divide the coated popcorn into two roasters if needed.
  5. Bake uncovered at 250°F (120°C) for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  6. Add one cup of peanuts, if desired, after baking.
  7. Allow to cool before breaking into pieces and serving.
