Spiced Bars combine warm cinnamon, nutmeg, and toasted coconut with oats and nuts for a flavorful, chewy treat perfect for snacking or dessert occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 3/4 c. lite brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. oats
  • 1 c. nuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 (3 1/2 oz.) can flaked coconut

Instructions

  1. Stir together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  2. Cream butter and brown sugar; beat in eggs and vanilla.
  3. Gradually stir in the flour mixture, coconut, oats, and nuts.
  4. Turn the mixture into a greased 9-inch square cake pan.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 25 to 30 minutes.
  6. Cool and cut into bars.
