Spiced Fruit Salad Ring

Ingredients

  • 2 (3 oz.) packages orange jello
  • 1/3 package plain gelatin
  • 1/2 cup salad vinegar
  • 1 (1 lb. 14 oz.) can sliced peaches, drained
  • 1 cup fruit cocktail, drained
  • 1 teaspoon whole cloves
  • 4 sticks cinnamon bark
  • 4 cups juice drained from fruit, plus water to make 4 cups

Instructions

  1. Simmer juice, vinegar, whole cloves, and cinnamon bark for 10 minutes.
  2. Add drained fruit and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  3. Soften plain gelatin in 2 tablespoons of cold water.
  4. Strain the cooked fruit and add the orange jello and gelatin to the hot juice mixture.
  5. Stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
  6. Allow the mixture to cool, then add the cooked fruits.
  7. Pour into an oiled salad mold and chill until set.
  8. Serve to 10 to 12 guests, excellent with ham or turkey.
