Instructions
- Wash and dry the plums.
- Place the plums in a stone jar or bowl.
- Boil vinegar, sugar, cloves, cinnamon, and allspice together for 10 minutes.
- Pour the hot mixture over the plums.
- Cover and let stand overnight.
- Drain off the liquid and bring it to a boil.
- Add the boiling syrup back to the plums and cook until the plums are clear but not broken.
- Pack the hot plums and syrup into clean, hot Ball jars, filling them with the pickling syrup.
- Seal the jars immediately.
