A spicy, cheesy bread dish perfect for sharing, featuring a flavorful cream cheese and salsa filling baked inside a hollowed loaf, ideal for parties and casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 round loaf pumpernickel or sourdough bread with the top sliced off and reserved

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Mix softened cream cheese, sour cream, salsa, and shredded Cheddar cheese together.
  3. Hollow out the round loaf of pumpernickel or sourdough, reserving the top.
  4. Fill the hollowed loaf with the cheese mixture and replace the top.
  5. Wrap the filled loaf in foil.
  6. Bake for 1.5 hours.
  7. Serve warm with sliced raw vegetables and toasted bread chunks.
  8. Goes well with red, green, and yellow bell peppers.
