Pocket Steak Dinner

A hearty foil-baked steak with vegetables infused with onion soup flavor, perfect for a comforting family dinner or casual gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. chuck or round steak
  • 1 pkg. onion soup mix
  • 3 medium carrots
  • 3 medium potatoes
  • 2 Tbsp. butter

Instructions

  1. Tear off enough foil to completely cover the meat and vegetables. Place the meat in the center of the foil on a cookie sheet.
  2. Spread the onion soup mix on top of the meat.
  3. Place chunks of carrots and potatoes on the meat; dot with butter. Seal the foil around the entire thing to hold in the juices.
  4. Bake at 350°F for 1 1/2 hours, until vegetables are soft.
  5. Serve with gravy made from the meat juices if desired.
