Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup salad oil
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 3/4 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Cream together the sugar and salad oil until well blended.
  2. Sift together the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk and molasses, and mix until combined.
  4. Stir in the raisins.
  5. Spread the dough onto a cookie sheet.
  6. Bake in a 350°F oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with sugar.
