Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. thin round steak
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 can onion soup
  • 1/2 can water
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Cut the steak into 6 pieces.
  2. Combine cooked rice and raisins; place near the center of each piece of meat.
  3. Roll up the meat, tuck in the ends, and fasten with toothpicks.
  4. Brown the roll-ups in shortening in a skillet, then pour off the fat.
  5. Add the onion soup, water, vinegar, and brown sugar to the skillet.
  6. Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hours or until the meat is tender.
