Ingredients

  • 3 lb. ground beef
  • 1 c. green pepper, diced
  • 1 c. onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. red pepper flakes
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3 to 4 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. oregano
  • 3 (16 oz.) cans tomatoes
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans red kidney beans

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, sauté ground beef with diced green pepper, chopped onion, and crushed garlic until the beef is browned.
  2. Add salt, red pepper flakes, sugar, chili powder, and oregano; stir well.
  3. Add the cans of tomatoes and simmer, covered, for about 1 hour.
  4. Stir in the red kidney beans and simmer for an additional 10 to 15 minutes.
