Ingredients

  • 3 packages frozen spinach, drained
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 12 tablespoons butter
  • 6 slices American cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 4 slices bread, toasted and cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 4 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. Arrange drained spinach in a greased 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.
  2. Heat milk slowly with 4 tablespoons butter and American cheese until cheese melts.
  3. Cool slightly, then stir in slightly beaten eggs.
  4. Pour cheese sauce over the spinach.
  5. Saute minced garlic in 8 tablespoons butter until brown.
  6. Add toasted bread cubes and stir until they absorb the butter.
  7. Arrange the toasted bread cubes over the top of the spinach.
  8. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
  9. Bake at 350°F for 35 minutes.
