Spinach Dorinne
Ingredients
- 2 pkg. frozen, chopped spinach ⓘ
- 4 Tbsp. butter ⓘ
- 2 Tbsp. flour ⓘ
- 2 Tbsp. chopped onion
- 1/2 c. evaporated milk
- 1/2 c. vegetable liquor ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. salt (if needed) ⓘ
- 3/4 tsp. celery salt
- 3/4 tsp. garlic salt ⓘ
- 6 oz. roll jalapeno cheese ⓘ
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce ⓘ
- red pepper to taste ⓘ
Instructions
- Cook spinach according to directions.
- Drain and reserve liquor.
- Melt butter in pan over low heat.
- Add onion; cook until soft, but not brown.
- Add flour, stirring until smooth, but not brown.
- Add liquor.
- Stir until smooth. Add milk and cook until thick and smooth, stirring constantly.
- Add seasonings and cheese, stirring until cheese melts.
- Combine with cooked spinach.
- Put in casserole, top with bread crumbs and bake just until heated through at 350°.
- (This may be served without baking.)
