Crispy spinach pakoras are savory Indian-style fritters with vibrant spinach flavor, spiced with cumin, chili, and chat masala, perfect as a snack or appetizer for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups gram flour
  • 1/2 tsp. pomegranate seed
  • 1 tsp. cumin seed
  • 1 tsp. red chili
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. chat masala
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 whole lemon
  • 8 oz. frozen spinach
  • 3/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl until well combined.
  2. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  3. Scoop teaspoonfuls of the batter and carefully drop them into the hot oil.
  4. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch.
  5. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels before serving.
