Spritz Dumplings

Spritz Dumplings are light, fluffy bites made from simple ingredients, perfect for comforting soups or broths. They are quick to prepare and delightfully tender.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 quarts broth or water

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients together in a glass or metal bowl until well combined.
  2. Bring broth or water to a boil in a large pot.
  3. Using a teaspoon, cut small pieces of batter from the side of the bowl into the boiling broth or water, about 15 pieces at a time.
  4. Cook until the dumplings float to the surface, about 3 minutes.
  5. Gently stir with a wooden spoon if needed to loosen from the bottom of the pan.
  6. Remove cooked dumplings with a slotted spoon and serve.
  7. Repeat the process with the remaining batter until all is cooked.
