Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 cup sour milk
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a bowl; cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Add raisins, molasses, sour milk, and egg; mix well to form the batter.
  3. Line a steamer pan with waxed paper and pour the batter into it.
  4. Steam the pudding for 3 hours until cooked through.
  5. Serve warm with sweetened White Sauce.
