Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup All-Bran flakes
  • 1/2 cup Raisin Bran flakes
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup flour

Instructions

  1. Soak cereals and raisins in milk for 5 minutes.
  2. Cream shortening and sugar until well blended.
  3. Beat in egg until smooth.
  4. Sift dry ingredients (flour and baking powder).
  5. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with cereal mixture, do not overmix.
  6. Fill greased muffin cups two-thirds full.
  7. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 25 to 30 minutes.
