Ingredients

  • 8 Tbsp. butter
  • 14 to 15 slices bread
  • 3 c. cooked, diced ham
  • 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 c. shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 c. milk

Instructions

  1. Spread butter on both sides of bread slices, then cut into cubes.
  2. Combine bread cubes, cooked diced ham, shredded Cheddar and Swiss cheeses, salt, and pepper; stir well.
  3. Beat eggs until foamy.
  4. Stir in milk.
  5. Add the egg and milk mixture to the bread and ham mixture; stir well.
  6. Pour the mixture into a lightly greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
  7. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour, uncovered.
