Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 pints strawberries
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Blend flour, chopped nuts, brown sugar, and margarine well to form the crumb mixture.
  2. Bake the crumb mixture at 300°F (150°C) for about 25 minutes, stirring three times during baking.
  3. Wash and drain the strawberries thoroughly.
  4. Add lemon juice to the strawberries if desired.
  5. Serve the strawberries topped with the baked crumb mixture.
