Ingredients

  • 6 tart medium apples
  • 3/4 cup medium cinnamon candies
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 (3 oz.) package cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup chopped dates
  • 1 (9 oz.) can crushed and drained pineapple
  • 2 tablespoons chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Pare and core the apples.
  2. Cook cinnamon candies in water until dissolved.
  3. Add apples to the syrup and cook slowly, uncovered, until just tender, about 15 to 20 minutes, turning once during cooking.
  4. Chill the apples in the syrup, turning once during chilling.
