Ingredients

  • 8 slices white bread, crumbled and dampened
  • 1 1/2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 skinless breakfast sausages, precooked and chopped
  • 2 Tbsp raisins
  • 2 stalks celery, scraped clean
  • 1 1/2 apples, cored, skinned, and diced
  • Thyme (as desired)
  • Basil (as desired)
  • 1 pat butter
  • Parsley

Instructions

  1. In a large frypan, melt butter and slow fry chopped onions until soft without burning.
  2. Add raisins to the onions and cook until softened.
  3. Add the dampened bread pieces to the frypan.
  4. Add the chopped celery and small pieces of apple to the mixture.
  5. Mix all ingredients thoroughly, add a pinch of salt, thyme, and basil, then cover and warm over very low heat for approximately 15 minutes.
  6. Add the precooked, chopped sausage (degreased on paper towel) to the mixture.
  7. Stir in chopped parsley.
  8. Stuff the mixture into an entree and cook as directed.
  9. Serve warm.
