Suet Cake For Birds

A nutritious and easy-to-make bird treat combining suet, grains, and seeds, perfect for attracting a variety of wild birds to your garden or backyard feeders.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups melted beef suet
  • 1 1/2 cups bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons chunky peanut butter
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup corn meal
  • 1/2 cup wild bird seed
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Stir the dry ingredients together in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add the melted beef suet and mix well to combine.
  3. Pack the mixture into styrofoam cups through which a knotted cord has been drawn like a candlewick.
  4. Set the cups in the refrigerator until the mixture is firm.
  5. Peel off the upper half of the cup and hang the suet cake in a tree or bush for the birds to enjoy.
