Ingredients

  • 1 envelope instant mashed potatoes
  • 1 envelope mushroom gravy mix
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup soft bread crumbs
  • 10 oz mixed vegetables, thawed
  • oil or melted butter
  • paprika

Instructions

  1. Prepare mashed potatoes and gravy mix according to package directions.
  2. Spread mashed potatoes in a well-greased 9-inch pie plate, covering the bottom and sides to form a shell.
  3. Mix ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, thawed vegetables, and 1/4 cup gravy.
  4. Mix well until combined.
  5. Spoon the meat mixture into the potato shell, patting with the back of a spoon to level off evenly.
  6. Brush the edges of the potato crust lightly with oil or melted butter.
  7. Sprinkle with paprika.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40 to 45 minutes.
  9. Serve with remaining gravy.
