Hearty and flavorful supper steaks featuring tender cube steaks baked with onion soup, mushrooms, and beef gravy for a comforting family meal.

Ingredients

  • 6 to 8 cube steaks
  • 1 pkg dry onion soup
  • 4 oz mushrooms
  • sliced onion
  • 1 can beef gravy

Instructions

  1. Flour the cube steaks and brown them in a small amount of shortening.
  2. Place the browned steaks in a 8 x 13-inch pan.
  3. Sprinkle the steaks with dry onion soup.
  4. Drain the mushrooms and spread them over the steaks.
  5. Layer sliced onions on top of the mushrooms.
  6. Mix the beef gravy with water and pour it over the onions without stirring.
  7. Cover the pan with foil.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 250°F for 3 to 4 hours.
