- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine ground beef, chopped onion, bread crumbs, egg, mayonnaise, garlic salt, Italian seasoning, and black pepper; mix well.
- Press the meat mixture into the bottom of a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2-inch jelly roll pan, keeping it about one inch from the edges.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, then drain excess fat.
- Sprinkle grated mozzarella cheese over the meat and bake for an additional 5 to 8 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
- Remove from oven and let rest for about 5 minutes.
- Cut the meat into 20 squares and place each inside split small rolls. Serve with mustard and mayonnaise.
