Surfer Bars
Ingredients
- 1 (6 ounce) package butterscotch chips ⓘ
- 1/4 cup granulated brown sugar ⓘ
- 1/4 cup butter ⓘ
- 1 large egg ⓘ
- 3/4 cup flour ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon baking powder ⓘ
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 (6 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips ⓘ
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or 1/2 cup almonds ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon vanilla ⓘ
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Grease an 8 inch square baking pan.
- In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butterscotch pieces, sugar and butter, stirring constantly until all is melted.
- Remove from heat.
- Cool butterscotch mixture slightly.
- Add egg and beat well.
- Add flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt, mix well.
- Stir in remaining ingredients.
- Spread mixture evenly in 8 inch square pan.
- Bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes.
- Cool in pan on wire rack.
- When cool, cut into bars.
