Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 1/2 cups beer
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 to 4 large sweet onions

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, egg yolks, beer, vegetable oil, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  2. Cover and let sit at room temperature for 3 hours.
  3. Peel onions and cut into 1/4-inch slices.
  4. Dip onion slices into batter, then deep fry for 3 to 5 minutes until golden and crispy.
  5. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with salt while still hot.
