Tips & Substitutions

For a creamier texture, ensure the sweet potatoes are fully cooked before pureeing. If you don't have rum, consider using vanilla extract for added flavor. You can also substitute the butter with coconut oil for a dairy-free version. This puree pairs beautifully with grilled meats or as a filling for savory pastries.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the sweet potato and banana puree as a side dish for roasted poultry or fish. It also makes a delightful spread on toasted bread or pancakes. For a complete meal, pair it with a fresh salad or roasted vegetables. This dish is perfect for fall gatherings or holiday feasts.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. To reheat, warm gently in a saucepan over low heat, adding a splash of water or milk to restore creaminess. Alternatively, you can microwave it in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until heated through.
