Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 boxes frozen French-cut beans
  • 1/2 lb. Swiss cheese, grated
  • 1/2 c. slightly crushed croutons or bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Thaw the frozen French-cut beans.
  2. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a pan.
  3. Add flour to the pan and stir in sour cream.
  4. Cook until mixture is thick or bubbly; then add chopped onion, salt, and pepper.
  5. Fold in the thawed beans.
  6. Transfer the mixture into a 9-inch square casserole dish.
  7. Sprinkle grated Swiss cheese over the top and cover with bread crumbs.
  8. Pour 1 tablespoon of melted butter over the bread crumbs.
  9. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 25 to 30 minutes.
