Creamy, cheesy macaroni layered with a blend of sharp and mozzarella cheeses, American and Swiss slices, perfect for comforting family dinners or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 3 c. uncooked macaroni
  • 1 c. sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 c. Mozzarella cheese
  • grated or shredded Parmesan cheese
  • grated or shredded Romano cheese
  • 12 slices American cheese
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 3/4 c. milk
  • 2 tsp. butter
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni until done; drain.
  2. Mix milk and egg together.
  3. In the bottom of a 3-quart casserole dish, put half of the cooked macaroni.
  4. Pour half of the milk and egg mixture over the noodles.
  5. Layer half of the Cheddar and Mozzarella cheeses on top.
  6. Lay 6 slices of American cheese and 3 slices of Swiss cheese over the layer, then sprinkle with Parmesan and Romano cheeses.
  7. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
  8. Add salt and butter on top of the final layer before baking.
  9. Bake at 350°F for 40 to 45 minutes.
