- Pour the cooked cabbage into a buttered 2-quart dish.
- Sauté sliced onion, green pepper, sugar, and butter until vegetables are tender.
- Add canned tomatoes, salt, and pepper to the sautéed vegetables and cook briefly.
- Pour the tomato mixture over the cabbage in the dish and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
- Bake at 350°F until heated through and cheese is melted.
- Optional: cut hot dogs and place on top before serving.
