Texas Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 lb. bulk sausage
  • 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 (10 1/2 oz.) can condensed onion soup
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • cooked rice
  • 1/4 c. vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/8 tsp. hot pepper sauce
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed tomato soup
  • 2 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. chili powder

Instructions

  1. Mix beef, sausage, bread crumbs and egg. Shape into balls. Brown meatballs.
  2. Pour off fat. Add remaining ingredients except rice. Cover and cook over low heat 20 minutes until done. Stir occasionally. Serve over rice.
  3. Makes 5 cups.
