Texas Short Ribs

- Place short ribs in large frying pan or Dutch oven; cover tightly and cook slowly for 1 1/2 hours, turning occasionally. Season with salt and pepper.
- Combine tomato sauce, brown sugar, catsup, vinegar, mustard, onion, garlic and chili powder in saucepan and simmer 5 minutes, stirring to blend.
- Remove each short rib from pan.
- Dip in sauce to coat all sides and place on rack in broiler pan (4 to 5 inches from heat) or on grill top over charcoal.
- Cook at moderate temperature, brushing with sauce and turning occasionally, 20 to 30 minutes or until done.
